The system uses two distinct types of rates to track financials. Understanding the difference is crucial for accurate billing and payroll.
What you charge the client. Used to generate invoices and calculate project revenue.
What you pay your employee. Used to calculate payroll (gross pay) and project costs.
When a user logs time, the system determines the Billable Rate based on priority. The most specific rate always wins.
Defined on a specific Project Task.
"Design Work" task = $200/hr. "Meeting" task = $100/hr.
A customized rate for a specific user on a specific project.
Jane Smith on "Website Redesign" = $175/hr.
The fallback rate for the project if no task or member rate is found.
Standard project rate = $150/hr.
Cost Rates are stored securely in the user's profile and are visible only to Admins.
Hours × Hourly Cost RateApplied to the first 40 hours per week.
